"The Senator's Daughter" complete
All of the links to the Medium chapters, plus ebook purchase options
My latest Quentin Quick story, “The Senator’s Daughter,” is complete — you can read all 17 chapters plus the twisted little coda with the links on my blog site (Wordpress does tables better than Substack). You can also buy it as an ebook: directly from me on Payhip, or on Smashwords. (This is the sort of thing that will likely fly on Amazon, so I’m not even going to try my luck there …)
This story might be described as “The Ransom of Red Chief” meets “9 1/2 Weeks” — it’s intended to be a little satirical and a lot twisted. Be warned, there are devices — so, so many devices — deployed.
I’m currently traveling, so I may not be terribly responsive for the next few days: I did sort my janky wi-fi issues (by buying a day’s worth of data roaming on my phone so I can use it as a portable router), but I don’t plan to sit on the couch of a rented basement apartment when one of the greatest cities in the world is at my feet (or above my head, as it were). I lived in this particular city a long, long time ago, and it’s equal parts thrilling and confusing to see how much of what I knew here no longer exists — I hope to visit some old stomping grounds today, and I’m bracing myself to be shocked that things I thought were permanent have been swept away by the march of time.
While I’m traveling, I’m running a little quiz about my previous travels. Can you identify these locations? If you get them right, or delightfully wrong, I’ll send you some coupons for free books!
This is the final entry in this tale; you can read it through the links to Medium, or buy directly from me - it will be available on Smashwords and a few other places in a day or two.
Want a cheap and easy way to support me? Buy one of my books directly on Payhip: most are just $1, some come with spicier covers than Amazon and Smashwords permit, and you get discounts when you buy more than one.
